WhatsApp Web supports audio and video calls. This development comes after many years of waiting. With this feature, you can place calls directly from the browser.
For many years WhatsApp Web has supported several feature additions, as well as UI changes. These include: desktop apps for Windows, macOS, and iPadOS.

A report by WABetaInfo has it that WhatsApp Web is releasing support for making and answering calls directly from the browser. The new feature has been in development for about a year now.
It’s like the desktop apps, where users can place and answer calls directly from the chat screen while using WhatsApp Web. Also, like the mobile apps, WhatsApp calls on the web are end-to-end encrypted and support features like screen sharing. No doubt, many web client users will find it useful.
In terms of availability, for now, the calling feature is limited to users who are enrolled in the WhatsApp Web beta programme. Though reports have it that in the coming days, WhatsApp plans to unveil it to reach regular users.
Nevertheless, group calls are not supported on WhatsApp Web yet. The feature is expected to arrive soon.
